• Head Coach Kirsty-Lianne began her journey in gymnastics at the age of 7, competing artistically right up until the age of 19. Along these 12 years, Kirsty found herself competing for her school in the British Schools Gymnastics Association (BSGA) both Regionally and Nationally and coaching for her local club at the age of 13. With this passion for gymnastics came the desire of starting her own gymnastics club…Wythall!

Wythall Gymnastics Club originally started in a small school hall in Wythall. The demand for gymnastic sessions within the community soon became apparent when receiving feedback from parents within the area. With this feedback, Head coach Kirsty began providing the community with extra classes to a wide range of ages - 2yrs and above! With this expansion of classes came the greater need of more space, initiating the move to Woodrush Sports Hall in July 2008.

Following 4 successful years at Woodrush the club relocated in April 2012 to our current premises. With this move the club was able to offer classes 7 days a week to different ranges and abilities. Opening the club in a new area came an even bigger want for extra gymnastics, giving Kirsty opportunity to begin 2 more invitational squads and supporting local schools in part-taking in the BSGA also. This allowed children to compete in many different competitions such as:

    -       BSGA Floor & Vault, Acro, Tumblings, Trio’s & Disability.

    -       West Midlands George Finney

    -       West Midlands Floor & Vault

    -       Streetly 4 Piece

    -       Dudley 4 Piece

    -       GMAC Boys 6 Piece and the Gymnastics for all showcase of Gymfest, for invitational only gymnasts.

With the bigger facilities and more children came the need for more staff. Kirsty prides herself on her abilities to nurture and train coaches towards their Level 1, 2 & 3 coaching qualifications whom all pass at ease and are always recommended to take their coaching further. Wythall’s coaching team is constantly growing with new junior coaches of whom are gymnasts at the club themselves. With this team, in 2018 saw Wythall’s first apprentice and is looking to take on another later this year.
